I am having a problem with my xbox 360?

When I try to plug it into a tv the video cable doesn’t work, don’t ask me to flip the switch on the cable from tv to hi-def because my cord doesn’t have that switch, I am getting audio but not video and have tried it on two different tv’s do i just need a new cable or is there a DIY solution?
