MINI Cooper air conditioning won’t work. Diagnostics?
I have an 03 Cooper S with auto climate control. The heat works great. The air conditioning on the other hand isn’t blowing out any cool/cold air. We tested the system and its holding a charge with the R-134 so there are no leaks. Another thing is that when the climate control unit is turned completely off, I can still feel warm/hot air coming from the vents as if the heater was turned on Low. Has anyone else had this happen with their MINI? If you had a similar case, what was the problem? Id like to ask before we start tearing the system apart and replacing the compressor, evaporator, condenser, etc. one by one. Thanks
Oh, and please don’t tell me to take it to a MINI dealer. Its over 90 miles away. Yea, I know I COULD do that, but one of us working on this is an ASE Certified mech for many years…. this is kind of a DIY project here.
