BETTA FISH DIY
Help with 10 gallon tank stocking?

10 gallon tank with DIY sponge filter:

1 betta

5 het/harlequin rasboras

5 (???) ghost shrimp

Is this overstocking??? I didn’t know how to account for the shrimp in terms of bioload. I know they don’t add very much to the waste…I also know the betta might eat them. =B

(This is all hypothetical, of course, so no yelling at me about buying fish without knowing if they could fit or bla bla bla because I would never do that. I don’t even have a tank yet. Just trying to plan stuff out.)
Oops, sorry, and a heater =)

I’m thrilled to see someone looking into things before buying the fish.

Your tank is not overstocked, and some might even say you can add more. I would then disagree, because this is a well balanced tank and a lighter bio-load leads to healthier conditions.

None of your fish are high waste producers, and the ghost shrimp count as especially low.

Great choices, and I have no doubt you’re looking into the maintenance and feeding aspects of keeping them as well.
