HOW MANY QUARTS OF MOTOR OIL DOES A 2006 BMW 530I NEED?
I JUST DID A DIY OIL CHANGE AND I AM GETTING A WARNING MESSAGE ON THE SCREEN EVERY TIME I STEP ON THE GAS THE ENGINE SHAKES ABNORMALLY THAT SAYS WARNING! ENGINE OIL REQUIRED IDK WHAT TO DO HOW MANY QUARTS DOES IT NEED!
I USED MOBIL 1 5W-30 FULLY SYNTHETIC
In round numbers, 6.9 quarts. (and since oil is sold in quarts in the USA, rather than litres, I guess that’s why people still use the old system…..). Even BMW must not find it that old-fashioned since BMW sells their own-brand oil through BMW dealerships in quarts.
Since your car doesn’t have a dipstick, then it’s important to know exactly how much oil you put in. If you’re not sure, you be best off draining it out and adding the correct amount of oil again.
And when you DO refiill it, don’t use regular Mobil 1 5W-30. It’s not BMW approved for your engine. You need an oil that meets BMW spec LL-04. The only Mobil oil that meets that spec is Mobil 1 ESP Formula 5W-30.
