CAR ALARM DIY
Remote Starter?
I’m thinking about buying one of those DIY ready remote car starter and keyless entry system and was wondering if i need any bypass module or any other add-on pieces,
I have a 2003 chevy impala which doesn’t currently have any remote starters, alarms or keyless entrys, Thanks for the Help?
putting a remote starter on that car could present a few challenges.
Your ignition wires have to be accessed through the radio opening, but you also have to be careful as to not unplug the radio.
Your door locks are a one wire negative system, you’ll need to diode isolate the feed and supply a 480 ohms resistance to your lock side.
not only will you have to tie into the factory alarm dis arm wire and anti theft wire. You are going to need a Passlock 2 bypass or can be done via relays.
This job should be left to the pros.If you try to tackle this .I do hope you plan on making soldered connections on all your wires.
