Repaired damage BR subfloor, but it’s 1/16″ off from the original?
My husband and I are renovating one of our bathrooms. After deconstructing the bathroom down to the studs and the subfloor, we noticed that the plywood subfloor between the toilet and the tub was severly damaged by water. We removed the damaged area and cut a new piece of 3/4 plywood to put down. The new piece is down, but there is a 1/16″ height difference between the new repaired piece and the original subfloor.
I am planning on laying ceramic tile after installing the new tub. I am worried that this small difference in height is going to cause problems with the tile over time.
In our other DIY renovations, I have used the cementboard over the subfloor along with the quick-set and the tile. I just don’t think that screwing the cementboard down to the uneven subfloor is going to do anything except create a “hill” in the bathroom.
What about the self-leveling cement? Will that work? Does the 1/16″ really matter?
Any input would be appreciated.

put a coat of thin set and set your cement board over it while it is wet.that should solve tour problem.good luck.
