Trying to do a bedroom DIY project with a fairie theme any ideas?
I want to do a DIY project on my bedroom and I want it to have a very mystical/ whismical feeling. I love butterflies,dragonflies, fairies and I love the play Midsummer Nights Dream by Shakespeare and would love to think of a way to incorparate that fairie theme if possible. I plan on painting and getting new bedding and everything but i’m having trouble finding things to decorate with and bedding that will work into the theme so any help is greatly appreciated.
I made my own bedding by using a pink metallic bed skirt and a sheer fabric over the top with rose petals in it. I also hired an artist to paint fairies on the wall but I have since found a MUCH cheaper way to get fairies on the wall! Find a calender or book that has photos you like or photo copy them on a color copier and cut them out. Then scrape the bumps off the wall and decoupage them to the wall! I’ve done it with fairies, planes and skateboard stuff. It works AWESOME. I bought sheer butterflies from the dollar store and hung them from the ceiling along with some cute fairies I found. I also put netting over the bed and put some butterflies in the netting. The mystical feel can be obtained with plain bed linens and making pillows with shimmery fabrics.
