any creative ideas for DIY headboards for beds?

i am moving into a rented house and cannot do much with the walls… if it was my own house i would have done something about the wall behind my bed in the master bedroom.. since i cannot, can anybody tell me about some creative DIY ideas to make a headboard for the bed that does not involve the walls at all…

i dont know about headboards. but to make an accent wall without painting, you could put up curtains that go down to the floor to make color behind your bed, and also to make the illusion that you have a window behind it.
