Best glue to use to adhere 2 pieces of card stock together?

Doing a DIY project with card stock and making a pocket of sorts, I have tried a variety of glues, including the perm. glue roller types. What else would you rec? TIA

don’t use wood glue it shrinks too much , plain old white glue would work just fine, it’s super cheap and can be found anywhere
