trying to put an alpine deck into 93 sonata. The adapters are completely different. Have any diy advice?
It makes sense to me i should be able to buy an adapter, is this right? Very familiar with audio equipment outside of vehicles, finding myself completely lost, please help.
Thanks Bruce, am I looking for a Alpine adapter? Sonata adapter? How will I identify the right thing to buy?
The power seems to hook up fine, its just the crazy multi pin. Cutting that is just to gross for me to deal with, particularly because its not even my car, I wont be the one going to the store.
You need to get a Hyundai adapter. Go to a car audio store, tell them what kind of car you have and they should be able to provide it; this is one that might be hard to find at a discount store. The adapter will fit the stock plug that’s in the car, and you’ll crimp or solder the adapter wires to the wire plug that came with the Alpine head unit. The wire colors should be the same between the Alpine wires and the adapter’s wires.
