DIY GUITAR PEDAL

DIY GUITAR PEDAL
What is this DIY electronic schematic symbol? For a guitar pedal…?

I want to build the circuit for the volume/panning guitar pedal(the link is below). There are some parts I don’t understand:

1. The small circles next to the input and output channels. They are also in the center of the schematic. What are they?
2. The part in the center of the schematic, with 2 overlapping signal paths in the form of an W. Also with o ’s.

Here is the link:

http://www.morleypedals.com/xvpes.pdf

And for 10 points, how to make the circuit just as an panner or where to put the volume/pan footswitch if I make it for both.

The small circles are connection points. The 4 input/outputs are stereo 1/4″ TRS style jacks. The crossover in the center appears to be a poorly drawn DPDT switch to change from Volume to Pan (considering what type of circuit this is, it is probably a button type switch located under the pedal: depress the pedal until it clicks once for one mode, press again for the other) Looking at their other schematics this certainly appears to be one of their simpler circuits. The tough part of DIY for this would be to find the potentiometer assemblies that can be adjusted with the movement of the pedal.

Here is a schematic for a voltage controlled mono-in, stereo-out panner: http://www.solorb.com/elect/panner/panner.gif
or here
http://english.cxem.net/amplifier/amplifier38.php
It only shows the circuit for one channel, the other would be identical.

These guys have some cool schematics for guitar effects circuits: http://www.circuits-city.com/

Hope that answered your two questions and the “bonus” question (ans: under the pedal) Good luck.
