Stupidest DIY accident or construction accident you have ever made ?
I am an electrician -stupidest thing has to be a high hat installation where there was an old plumbing pipe just over the hole of where the new fixture was going -my helper tells me that the pipe “gives a little” and he can probably fit the can if he pushes on the pipe a little – I say go for it having confidence in this guy next thing I know there is water running all over a steinway piano we had moved out of the way to do a job -not only that this was an old house and every time we cut a can hole in dust was everywhere -that had to be the biggest disaster job ever – I have sen a lot of funny accidents on jobs -but I would like to hear some of your stories?
at the time this was not funny at all I thought I was going to have a stroke but now looking back -it was like something striaght off a sitcom
The stupidest thing I’ve ever seen was when I was working as a carpenter on a Commercial Project for a GC.
We were building a strip mall and all he did was, push, push and push the men. He had brought in a Bobcat to dig the trenches for the Plumbers. He also scheduled the Store Front men to install the Windows. So there they were installing the storefronts and after they were done, he realized they couldnt get the Bobcat out. Everyone of the job laughed there heads off ………………
