Do DIY Subterranean Termite “Kits” Work?
I saw a package at the local hardware store to treat my home for subterranean termites. It involves drilling holes around the perimeter of the foundation and putting in tubes of poison. It costs around $60 compared to a professional termite company’s quote of around $1,000. Will the hardware store DIY “kit” work at all, and if so, will it be as good as paying the professional termite company $1000?
No. Termites can vary across the country. Best to hire a pro so that you get the most effective tx for your species. They also provide modest insurance. Pro’s can also use insecticide you are not allowed to use. You get what you pay for.
