How much does a scenic pond cost. Anatural scenic pond?

How much is the equiptment usually for building an outdoor scenic pond? I already have all the rock. I don’t have cement though. And also how dificult are fairly elaborate ones to DIY?
I have made my own design and everything. It will look pretty awesome if i can get it done.

If you’ve never worked with cement before on a large scale, you would be much better off (better in terms of finance, labor involved, degree of difficulty and level of complexity) using a pond liner.

After putting down a good layer of wet sand (at least 2″ thick), with a pond liner — basically a thick black plastic tarp — there is no cure time and far less chance of leaks and expensive repairs. The downside is that the plastic liner will only last ten years or so before needing to be replaced, but cement, properly maintained, will last forever (unless damaged by earthquake or something fairly major).

Cement , installed properly, treated to reduce the natural alkalinity and painted, stained or dyed to the desired naturalistic color (all done DIY), will run about $800 for a 10′ X 10′ X 3′ pond and take two to three weeks to complete. A plastic liner, with sand underlayment, for the same size pond, will cost about $120 and can be finished in a day.

I’ve never built a cement pond (feeling it is just a little above my level of expertise), but have constructed three plastic-liner ponds. Next time, I am going with cement, just because it is a little more versatile and lasts a lifetime.
