DIY SIMPLE TABLE
Publishing?
I am inquiring of a means to get my work published in a magazine or compilation of short works of literature. I have written and been included in some zines around the local area, run by the punk and DIY community, but I would like to take this to the next step and give a shot at being recognized for it on a broader spectrum.
I primarily work in short stories as well as poetry, and am very apt to prose, though not always are they used as often, if ever in my cumulative collection of drafts.
I know for a fact its harder to become a writer for a magazine then it is to publish a book, and I could be a bit foolish in undertaking the typically over thought, underhanded stance, but I would like to start somewhere and enjoy the saturation a short piece brings to the table in my expression.
I’m not expecting a golden spoon, just maybe a simple place to help me start. Any ideas?

Be warned — this is not likely to be a big moneymaker. Markets are small and few for fiction work, and competition is great. (Prose markets are even tougher.)
One way to get exposure and some great feedback is by getting involved with online writers’ groups and posting your writing on the web. You will also get to know some like minds.
Don’t let the lack of print publication opportunities stop you from doing your work. Keep at it, keep learning… and if the passion is really there, you will find your place.
