Deep Car Scratch on Honda Odyssey MiniVan back door?

Garage door shut, and grazed the back door of our minivan before hitting the bumper. Two 3″x5″ scratches immediately below rear window and then again above license plate. May have scratched on metal and the plastic (fiberglass?) part. Help? Reading about all kinds of products. Definitely a DIY project. Thanks!

My husband says to use bondo glazing putty,use 220 grit sandpaper,hand sand till flush and smooth.If needed repeat this until flush and smooth,then it can be painted
