Where do you find your decorating inspiration?
I’m moving into a new apartment soon and starting from scratch. I know our decor is going to be very dark and “old world”.
I’m curious where you find the inspiration for your decorating ideas? Online websites? Magazines? I know I would buy lots of magazines, cut out the pictures and articles that I found most visually interesting, and tape the pictures into composition books for inspiration. I’m also an HGTV and DIY addict too.
In addition to where you get your inspirations, where do you typically shop? I’m very discount store, thrift or second hand store type. I love refurbishing things into something really cool. I’m also a huge fan of Ebay and Etsy.
I’d love your input on where you find your inspiration, and where you buy your merchandise. Thanks in advance!
I love antiques and have refinished many for myself..I like to use them though, and if there is no use for them, then I don’t buy them..I like clean lines, so I like to mix the old with the new..my antiques inspire me..I choose my colours to match my wood pieces and my wood flooring…I like to keep the same lines running throughout the house except in my girls’ rooms..they get to decide on their decorating scheme. I just find something I love and start from there..I like the decorating shows too, but they don’t do much in the style I like for my home. I like to shop on Sundays at flea markets and antique stores.
