LEATHER DYE DIY

How do you get a scuff off of patent leather?
I have a white scuff on some designer navy blue patent leather heels and a red scuff on a very expensive yellow patent leather purse… I live in Savannah and the best person we have to do this in town well, quite frankly, sucks. Everytime he has done anything like dye my shoes he has dyed them a shade off and there were still drip marks on the shoes. So he is not an option.. Anyone have any DIY solutions that won’t hurt the patent leather?
You can remove the marks with WD-40™…a product normally used as a lubricant, but it also removes most marks. You can buy WD-40 at most hardware stores.
Spray some WD-40 on a rag and gently scrub the marks with this until the marks are gone. You might want to use the WD-40 outside, wearing gloves. It stinks, but it works.
Important: test a small, inconspicuous spot before using the WD-40. I highly doubt it will hurt the patent leather, but better safe than sorry.
Do not use Nail Polish Remover, rubbing alcohol, Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, or anything abrasive. Any of these products could scorch or scratch the patent leather.
