Need help decorating this office/guest room?

yes, this room is in need of serious help.. as you can tell, it’s a bit of a storage room right now but it has potential.
Wall color needs to stay as well as the seating/which can be put in the position it is in the pic or it transforms into a regular looking futon couch.
The shelves, I would like them to stay too.
I was thinking of adding purple decor to the room, maybe pillows and some purple things on the book shelves, as that would compliment the green nice.
Also love DIY projects, so was thinking of painting the “center” white, adding baskets for storage.
Def. need ideas and suggestions.. Thanks!!

I would start by putting the seating into the couch position and placing it in front of the windows -adding some bamboo blinds the existing window treatments if you feel the fabric would take well to dying a deep purple would look nice.Then move the table that the mirror is on in front of the couch it will give definition to the space .You may want to find an area rug to go under it for more interest .How about giving the little entertainment center a coat of white paint too for continuity.I like the wall color and its pretty much a neutral so purple accents will look great .Think about some art work too I would suggest simple black and white framed posters I think they’ll look great .I use allposters.com.
