Will this adapter thing work on any laptop hard drive to transfer files?
I want to know if this thing will let me get files off my broken laptop’s hard drive. And can it then be used as an external hard drive? and what would be the best way diy my own case?

It should work, but nothing can be guaranteed because the files may have been corrupted already, again it is worth a try.
